Media consumption

Newspapers
Which daily newspapers (if any) do you read? Although I don't read many newspapers, I read the daily mail occasionally.
•What sections of newspapers do you turn to first, and why? The humour column/section or the headline news.
•What sections do you never read, and why? The sports column/section 
•What kinds of stories do you usually read and why? Breaking news stories, important news (headline news)
•Do you, or someone else, buy the newspaper you read? Salma also reads the daily mail.
•Do you look at the online versions of any newspapers? I don't look at online versions of newspapers.



Magazines
What magazines (if any) do you buy regularly?  Why? I don't buy magazines.
•What sections of the magazines do you read? If I did read magazines I suspect I would like reading the trivia Page if there was one.



Television
Approximately how many hours a week do you spend watching television? 12 hours.
•What times of day do you usually watch television? Usually at 7pm
•What programmes do you like best and why? I like watching friends on E4 because I find it funny.
•Do you watch alone or with others? If you watch with others, who decides what you will watch? Most likely be my sister. Usually I pick what we watch.
•Do you watch 'live' TV or on-demand/catch-up? Do you use any other devices to watch TV (such as laptop of tablet?) I watch live TV. Sometimes I use the computer to watch TV shows.



Radio
Do you listen to the radio? Sometimes, yes.
•If yes, what stations do you like best and why? I like BBC Radio 1 because I find it interesting.
•Approximately how many hours a week do you spend listening to the radio? under 2 hours.
•What times of the day do you usually listen to the radio?
•Where do you listen to the radio? Usually if I'm in a car.
•What other activities (if any) do you do whilst listening to the radio? Looking out the window.



Cinema
What films have you seen in the cinema in the last month? I haven't been to the cinema in the last month but the last film I saw in the cinema was deadpool.
What films have you seen in other places – for example, through rental, satellite film channels or through video-on-demand? I saw Jurassic world through video on demand.
Who else watched the films with you? My mum.
•Who decided what films to watch? My mum.
•What devices do you typically use to watch films: TV, laptop, tablet, phone etc.? I like using the computer or the TV.



Online
How often do you access the internet? Quite often.
•Where do you access the internet?  At home, at college or school, or at work? At home and at school
•What are the main sites that you access? I use twitter or YouTube.
What are the main reasons for accessing these sites – for example, for information, to make purchases, communicate with friends or for entertainment? For information and entertainment mainly.
•What other activities (if any) do you do whilst accessing the internet? petting my cat.
•What different devices do you use to access the internet? What is your primary device for accessing the internet? A computer or phone.
•What social networks do you use regularly (e.g. Twitter, Instagram)? Why do you belong to these networks in particular? I use twitter most regularly because I like the concept of it.

Reflection
•How can you develop the amount and variety of media you consume? 
I think I should start reading magazines and expanding my reading of newspaper to online versions too.
•What will you change in your media consumption habits this year as a result of studying A Level Media? 
I will start reading newspapers more often.

•List three sources of media (websites/newspapers/apps/TV programmes etc.) that you will start to access this year that you haven't engaged with previously.
